A recent
Brooklyn Eagle story by Scott Enman quotes Gridlock Sam, Brooklyn Heights Association executive director Peter Bray, and others on the need for repairs to the BQE, particularly the half-mile "triple-cantilevered section" under the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. In short, urgent repairs are needed to avoided "calamity."

Could this be the real reason for the artifical mound ("Uplands") in Brooklyn Bridge Park? A bulwark to protect strollers from the imminent collapse of the BQE. (See earlier post,
Mr. de Blasio Tear Down This Wall.)
