Groton, Connecticut is the Submarine Capital of the World. The welcome sign commemorates the USS Nautilus (SSN-571), the world's first nuclear powered submarine.

The sandwich of record here, though, will always be the grinder (never sub).

Wall of Death?

A recent Brooklyn Eagle story by Scott Enman quotes Gridlock Sam, Brooklyn Heights Association executive director Peter Bray, and others on the need for repairs to the BQE, particularly the half-mile "triple-cantilevered section" under the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. In short, urgent repairs are needed to avoided "calamity."
